Description

Ready to go! This complete Norwegian rya rug kit titled “Kilde” was designed by Åse Øyen. It is available in two sizes:  60 x 110 cm (or 23.5″ x 43.3″) and 140 x 200 cm (55″ x 79″) .
You have four choices for color combinations. Please send me a photo of your completed rya if you make it so I can share with others. Here is the photo of the Orange-Brown but the others would be lovely, too.  See the listing for the Kilde in Grays–lovely!

The yarn is virgin wool from the Spaelsau sheep in Norway coarse and resilient. The backing is woven of heavy wool and linen in the traditional manner.
You make the knots with a needle threaded with two strands of rya yarn (ryegarn). I make it easy for you by starting the first row for you and adding detailed instructions which I translated from Norwegian to English. I also am available to give advice through the process if you need it.

The Kit includes everything you need:
Needles
Ruler (kavel) for keep loop length consistent
Hemmed and bound woven backing  (While the Rauma backings are not available for the 60x110cm backing, a Swedish backing will be substituted.
Yarn required plus a little extra for wiggle room
