Fireflower is a small rya kit design where Melinda will hand-draw the design onto the backing for you–no graph needed. The backing is made in Finland by Taito Pirkanmaa.  It is the kind of backing where the knots are made on the surface of the backing and do not show in the back.  This would only means something to you if you are familiar with the Norwegian or Swedish traditional backings.  I will start the first row for you so it will be clear how to proceed.

The backing will measure approximately 16″ wide by 17″ tall.  Almost square.  It is a heavy duty wool and linen backing.  Let me know if you are right- or left-handed and I will start the first few knots for you to your handedness.
