Description
“Action in the Riffles” Woodcut
From looking at the surface of a river or stream, you would never guess the action that is taking place in the riffles [the bubbly waters that flow rapidly over the rocks]. Riffles are where you find the trout enjoying the oxygenated waters bringing dizzy insects downstream. It’s an exciting image to play with: fish, rocks, swirls, emerging insects, and current—and a very challenging piece of wood to carve. Enjoy!
